Tennis
There is an all weather tennis court available. No equipment is provided, therefore please bring your own.

Wildlife
Otters, badgers, deer, red squirrels and a large variety of birds, including kingfishers and woodpeckers, can be spotted.

Walking
Tiptoe is ideal base for all the family to explore Northumberland. There is immediate walking from the cottage; visitors are welcome to explore our working arable farm, the beautiful river Till banks, the woods, or walk east to Etal which is only 3 miles away, or west to the Tillmouth junction pool where the river Till meets the Tweed.

Beaches
The magnificent coastline, which is only eight miles away, offers wide sweeps of clean golden beaches with rolling expansive dunes, and it is a designated area of outstanding beauty. A perfect place for a lazy picnic day!

Farne Island Boat Trips
by a local boatman, Billy Shiels, are available providing exciting trips to the Grey Seal colonies, bird watching trips and to Holy Island.

Holy Island
Island with strong Christian Heritage on which stands Lindisfarne Castle/Priory, home of St. Cuthbert in whose honour the Lindisfarne Gospels were written.

Castles
This now peaceful quiet county was once the disputed land of the Border Reivers and has many spectacular castles, such as Bamburgh Castle, Alnwick Castle and Chillingham Castle.

Walks
The Cheviot Hills and The Northumberland National Park are a walkers paradise with a large expanse of routes to explore, through the unspoilt and dramatic countryside.

Berwick upon Tweed
Only 8 miles away, has changed hands 14 times, as England & Scotland fought a war over its possession for over 3 centuries. The fine town has much to offer with the Elizabeth Ramparts that surround it and is a delight to walk around. There are 3 stunning bridges, museums and a leisure centre provides fun for everyone!

Wooler
Only 6 miles away; an attractive stone built town lying at the foot of the Cheviots. There are attractive country stores, pubs and a warm welcome to be found.

Horse Riding
Kimerston Riding Centre, only 4 miles away provides excellent lessons and horse riding opportunities, in the countryside and on the beaches of Holy Island, for all the family.

Golf
Close by there is the Hirsel Golf Club at Coldstream just 6 miles away, and Goswick is situated at nearby Berwick.
